RC400 Respiration Chamber
![]() |
For respiration rate measurements of larger animals. Originally developed to meet the requirements of a research project on the respiration rate of mussels when exposed to pollution, the chamber has a screwed lid which seals against an O ring. The lid has a central hole for the electrode holder (provided) and two tapered holes for the insertion of sealing bungs. There is a perforated false floor to separate the animal from the magnetic spinbar which is slowly rotated to mix the oxygen in the water. In use, the chamber would be placed in a constant temperature water bath, with a magnetic stirrer beneath it. |
